The origin of Barnaby's of America dates back more than six decades, to a sandlot in Philadelphia. There, a local sports legend known only as "Barnaby" was delighting crowds and rewriting the record books with his sizzling bat.
How good was Barnaby? Good enough that some fans began referring to him as "The Next Ruth" and good enough to attract the attention of more than a few major league scouts.
But alas, Barnaby's passion for baseball was matched by a major league appetite. Eventually his appetite got the best of him, he lost the form that had brought him his fame, and his ballplaying career came to an end before it actually began.
Soon Barnaby came up with a plan to combine the two great loves of his life: sports and eating! He opened a comfortable eatery where the food and atmosphere drew in customers from near and far.
Today the legend of Barnaby's lives on, with the freshest, tastiest food on the East Coast - and a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere that keeps the crowds coming back for more!
